Edward Boynton Angell, commonly called Ed, your mother's older brother.

He studied medicine under Dr. Wier Mitchell at the University of Pennsylvania. When he had graduated, Dr. Mitchell appointed him tutor to one of the patients and they travelled in Europe for a time. On his return, Ed settled in Rochester where he practiced throughout his life, specializing in neurological cases.

He married Florence Montgomery, whose grandfather was one of the Rochesters for whom the city was named.
