Boynton McGrawville Courtland Co NY -------------------- Petersham August the 14 1849 Dear Brother and Sister I take my pen to write a few lines to answer a letter we recieved from you June the 24 found us in usual healthe we was very hapy to hear of your safe return home that you found your family well we felt very ancious to hear how you got along I thought of evry thing after you left we went and sent to the Office I dont know how many times but no letter Brother Abel went to the office got a letter brought to us as we was coming in from milking we was very thankful to hear from you I thought it was a hard case to let you go home alone if I could ben your company I would Mr Smith and Asenath [?] got back in the afternoon we was very glad you took your bagage in the cars [unclear word crossed out] with you Brother Willards family are well there babe weighs 15 pounds Ellen and Julia often speak of aunt Calista Julia says aunt Calistas little girls have not got no aunt Nancy to take care of them they are well at Broth Abels the girls have ben at home the most of the time we have not had any better from Brother John sinse he was at home Mr Washington Chamberlain and his Children was to Petersham on a viset and Mrs Cox [Coxs?] they sayd he was well they see him often Mrs Marenia [?] Atwood was very much disapointed to think she could not see you she thought of coming a monday it was not convenient Father and Mothers healths is bout the same as when you was hear. we have had a very warm summer we think the warmest weather it has ben for a [unclear crossed out] number of years Mr Sargent ["and" crossed out] Wife and Child was hear a few weeks ago they was well at Hubbardston then Mother says when she thinks of your your [sic] coming home it seems almost like a dreame to her and I can say the same I have thought I would try to write a little there has ben something to prevent I have put it of until now Mother and I have had some work to do besides our own you know how it was when you was to Petersham I am so confused some of the time I cant think of any things I ought when I can take my hat and sit down a little time then I am quite at rest I want very much to see you all I feel very thankful to think you come to see us I wish your family could come with you we think of a great deal we could do and say if we could see you I wish Austany could come with Brother Asa and Sister Maria this fall if she could I would ["would" written again and crossed out] be very glad we shall look for Brother A and Sister this fall I wish that some of there pleas give our best respects to Brother and Sister and family tell them I should be hapy to see them Sister I requested me to write I have done wrong in not writing to answer her letter you all know I cant write much Tell Mason and William I thought they would write Mother often speaks of her visits at the west she enjoyed her self very much Mother says you must all write often to us write how your health is sinse you got home Sister Mary sends her best respects to you all her daughters wish to be remembed to all of our friends you must give my best respects to Brother David and Sister Eliza and family I wish they would come and see us I often think of all of our friends Sabbath evening after attending meeting I take my pen to finish my letter I have heard a good preaching to day I wish you could have gone to meeting with us when at Petersham you must remember me to all of our relation and friends and that inquires after me tell them I should like to see them all tell [unclear] she must not forget me tell your littel girls I want to see them Mother sends her love to all and wishes to leave all write to us N J Loring Mr A T Boynton Mrs C L Boynton
