Binghamton, May 3rd 1856 My Dear Libbie and Loussie it is with much pleasure that I now write to you although i am most askance [?] to because I have put it off so long when I promised to write to you before the next [?] week when you went away but I comenced going to school soon after you went ["away" crossed out] and have been so busy that I have not had time but I have thought of you every day nearly Aunt Austana was here Thursday and said that you wanted me to write to you The first of May the school that I attend had a May party on [unclear] prospect we had a very nice time indeed we expect to have another in sommer and it is to be a very large one we have moved since you ["went away" crossed out] were here we like it quite well and are all settelled I guess that I will discribe my room to you it is a little wing coming out from the right side of the house and quite pleasant. I am now siting by the window it has been raining and the grass is as green the buds [?] are coming forth. Oh girls I do wish that you could come here this summer and make a long visit we would have such a nice time I am sure Father thinke some of letting me go with Aunt if she goes this sommer to Mclean and would like to very much so tease her to come here how have you been since you were here I have not seen aunt enough to find out we have had very pleasant weather lately hat [??] it is rather cool to day it is most noon [??] and I have just finished a composition Oh dear it has comenced raining again I guess that you will think that I mean to let you know the state of the weather I will now close this dull conversation but I had no news to write you must write as soon as you receive this excuse for writing my love to all from yours most affectionate Alice Angell Lousie & Libbie [a word -- perhaps "Angell" -- crossed out] Boynton I dont know how to spell
