Ella Knickerbocker Angell, wife of James E. Angell, taken in
1903 when I best remember her.
Before her marriage, she taught school in New York City. I
had my best visits with her while I was wiping dishes for her
in the Waverly home.
She was active in the Baptist Church, organizin g
entertainments in which she acted, but devotin g herself
particularly to the field of foreign missions. She held
various state offices in the Baptist Missionary Society, which
offered scope for her executive ability.
Jim and Ella had four children, Pauline, Jessie, Elizabeth
and James.
